Get Ready SQL Server 2017 CTP 2.0 on Linux
Scott Guthrie - Executive Vice President, Cloud and Enterprise Group, Microsoft had announced the plan of Microsoft to bring the SQL Server to Linux which will enable SQL Server to deliver a consistent data platform across Windows Server and Linux also on-premises and cloud. Microsoft targeting the availability in mid-2017.
Microsoft is proving its commitment to being a cross platform solution provider. This gives customers choice and reduces the concerns for lock-in. We would expect this will also accelerate the overall adoption of SQL Server. Microsoft has released SQL Server 2017 CTP 2.0 capable to run on Linux on April 2017.
